Typically a 4 week class where you will finish one stained glass panel lamp in the copper foil technique. Panel lamps are constructed one panel at a time and then assembled together. Tools/supplies are required. A discount on the class fee is available if you purchase tools/supplies from me. A 10% discount on all tools and supplies is available during class periods or when purchased at the time you sign up for a class. It is only necessary to purchase 3 sessions for this class with additional sessions purchased as needed to finish your lamp. Required tools for a lamp class include: Soldering Iron, Glass Cutter, Running Pliers, Breaker Pliers, Safety Glasses, lamp shade pattern, lamp base. You will find a grinder extremely helpful when lamp building. Those tools can be found on this web site on the Class Tools page. Cotton clothes work best and gloves (cotton or rubber) are an option. Class sizes are limited and may include students working on projects different than yours.

After taking a panel lamp making class, many students are anxious to move on to other projects that are more advanced. You may want to make a shade to match an existing new or antique base like the one shown here. This lamp base was found in an antique store. The blown glass lady and pressed leaves were very unique. The glass used to match the base included blue glass to match the color of the female figure, and a textured leaf glass to mimic the leaves of the vine on the base.

Advanced stained glass classes are offered where you can come in with a design of your own and get guidance about how to approach it, what techniques work best, what glass to select, etc.

What a great gift for the "lamp maker" in your life who is looking for a stimulating experience. Enjoy!
