Crushed Glass: At The Lake

This is a crushed glass fused panel taken from a photo taken at Lake Michigan while bike riding through the "tunnel of trees" on a bike ride from Boyne Mountain to Mackinac City. I nearly caused a bike accident while rushing to get over to the side of the road for a picture that would later inspire this panel... the bike riders behind me were not very happy. This is created using my crushed glass technique where layers upon layer of glass is added in the kiln, then fired in the kiln before soldering it together into the finished panel. Beveled glass surrounds the central design. These pieces are absoultely beautiful with light shining through.
